{"id":22300,"date":"2026-06-29T16:29:15","date_gmt":"2026-06-29T13:29:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portal.pta.pdm.gr\/project\/healthcare-open-and-inclusive-for-all\/"},"modified":"2026-10-07T14:50:35","modified_gmt":"2026-10-07T11:50:35","slug":"healthcare-open-and-inclusive-for-all","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/portal.pta.pdm.gr\/en\/project\/healthcare-open-and-inclusive-for-all\/","title":{"rendered":"Healthcare open and inclusive for all"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The main goal of the iCARE project is to lay the foundations for addressing various barriers and inequalities that many people face today in accessing and using primary healthcare and social care services and infrastructure across the the Greece-North Macedonia cross-border area. iCARE&#8217;s interventions focus on establishing inclusive health and social care services (preventive health services, diagnostic pre-assessment, guidance, prescription services, etc.) that are free of accessibility barriers for all. The project particularly targets disadvantaged and high-risk citizens and medical tourists, such as elderly people, persons with disabilities and\/or chronic conditions, including children, and other high-risk individuals. The project will focus on two pilot cases: one in Prespes (Greece) and one in Resen (North Macedonia). These two municipalities, along with NCDP from Greece (LB1), will collaborate to improve and extend their \u201chelp at home\u201d services, transforming them into \u201chealthcare at home\u201d services that meet the special access needs of individuals with disabilities and\/or chronic conditions. To achieve this, iCARE will: &#8211; Collect and make available reliable accessibility information about inclusive health services and installations. &#8211; Install wayfinding and mobility aids at selected healthcare sites. &#8211; Launch new telemedicine services for \u201chealthcare at home\u201d for all. &#8211; Deliver workshops and seminars for health professionals on disability and accessibility issues. &#8211; Organize various publicity and awareness-raising activities, along with specialized seminars to improve the self-management skills of at-risk citizens.
