Building on the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the EU Gender Equality Strategy 2020\u20132025, TWINGE addresses persistent gaps in civic engagement, inclusivity, and policy integration at the local level. Through a carefully structured work plan comprising preparation, implementation, and follow-up phases, the project mobilises 300 participants from Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Slovenia and Italy in a flagship three-day workshop dedicated to gender-inclusive SDG planning. Complemented by interactive exchanges, action plan development, and the establishment of a digital platform, TWINGE enhances mutual understanding, strengthens local governance capacities, and generates sustainable policy outcomes. Essentially the long-term impact of TWINGE lies in the creation of gender-mainstreamed local SDG action plans, the institutionalisation of inclusive policies, and the consolidation of a transnational network that supports ongoing collaboration. By systematically embedding gender and non-discrimination considerations into all activities, ensuring equal access and representation, and promoting awareness across diverse communities, TWINGE contributes to the advancement of European values as enshrined in Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union and Article 21 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights.
