WATERVILL modernises rural and mountain water networks in the Mediterranean by combining technology, nature, and community know-how. WATERVILL upgrades these infrastructures through smart meters, digital leak detection, and drought-resilient materials, while also restoring nature-based buffers like infiltration zones to boost local water retention. In four pilot municipalities, these interventions are shaped through community-led planning, ensuring each solution fits the local context. A shared Decision Support System helps municipalities manage water networks more efficiently.
